How it Works Financially

Oikonomos International enables missionaries in high-cost locations to afford to keep their homes while on extended absence from the field. Oikonomos Stewards provide the resources needed. This will include contributing to the rent and utilities, living in the home or apartment, and covering their own travel and living expenses. The funding required in a high-cost location will vary but can easily run upwards of $10,000 for the six months.

Oikonomos Stewards are required to raise their own support. Some are self-funded, while others will seek contributions from friends and family and from their church. Upon selection as a Steward, an account will be established at Oikonomos to collect and track funds for that Steward. These funds may be used to cover training, rent/utilities, for travel to and from the location, and for living expenses. A small fee is deducted from these contributions to support some of the administrative needs of the organization.
